With the Japanese release of Animal Crossing: New Leaf rapidly approaching, I'm finding my head full of cute, colorful animals and visions of collecting everything from fish to furniture. In honor of its impending release, I decided to round up some of my favorite Animal Crossing: New Leaf merchandise... plus a bonus Style Savvy: Trendsetters crossover! Keep in mind this isn't an exhaustive list, as there are a ton of newly-added Animal Crossing: New Leaf items on Amazon Japan, so click that link and browse yourself if you can't get enough from my picks below.

Finally, Animal Crossing: New Leaf styluses! I wish I had a source for this image, but I believe it's a scan from an issue of Famitsu? Someone more knowledgeable please correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, I'm a huge fan of the new alpaca duo, so I'd probably pick that one, or perhaps the stylus with one of the Able Sisters on it. They're too adorable, but perhaps they'd be a bit clunky to use?
Well, that may be it for physical merchandise, but there's one more Animal Crossing: New Leaf-related thing I'd like to mention... The Style Savvy: Trendsetters crossover clothing! That's right, owners of the Japanese version of Style Savvy: Trendsetters will be privy to a KK Slider-themed t-shirt (for free), along with a whole outfit coordinate designed after Gracie from Animal Crossing:
I'm such a sucker for these kinds of things! I love the Gracie outfit, in particular. Would you think I was crazy if I told you I was considering buying a Japanese copy of Style Savvy: Trendsetters just for these exclusives? Okay, you're right, that is totally crazy. Don't worry –– I have a feeling I'll be getting a copy of the English version in the near future, and I'm not so bad as to buy a second copy just for two in-game outfits. Promise!
Only two more days!
Don't feel too bad, Anne -- if I could read Japanese, I'd surely consider getting the Japanese versions of both of these games, too :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm a big fan of the new alpaca characters, too! They're so cute :) I also really like the new deer character(s).
What are your favorite things to do while playing Animal Crossing, by the way? Mine are fishing, finding new fossils, arranging/tending to flowers and making t-shirt designs.
Great, now I've gone and made myself excited for this game again :| Hopefully Nintendo of America releases it sooner rather than later in 2013 (January or February would be really nice...).
Hmm... I'd say I definitely spend the most time fishing and digging up fossils, Bryan! Though I do like to go bug hunting and collecting furniture, as well. I never really got into t-shirt designing because I was just so horrible at it, but when I was rounding up things for this blog post I came across a few blogs who are still playing AC: Wild World and posting their clothing designs, which was pretty inspirational! I'm definitely going to try to dive more into that aspect of the game when I get my hands on this newest Animal Crossing.
ReplyDeleteI hate to make you so wistful for the NA release! Maybe I should try not to post too much about it? I don't want people to think I'm bragging about the fact that I'm getting it or anything... But maybe if we shout at Nintendo of America enough they'll hurry up and announce a release date for January? ;)
Oh, no, please don't stop posting about Animal Crossing, Anne. Although, yes, it makes me wistful for the NA release, it's not a big deal. Also, I'd rather see and hear about your adventures with the Japanese version than not see/hear about it at all!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about me; I've got plenty of games to keep me busy between now and whenever the NA version is released :)
I'm glad you think I post about cute things! I live for cute things :D
ReplyDeleteAll of the items *except* for the styluses are available on Amazon Japan, and I'm sure other stores, as well... After reading over that stylus advertisement, though, it looks like they're going to be distributed in gacha gacha machines. You know those? They're the kind where you put in some money and get a random item in a little plastic ball. I wish you could buy them individually!
Oh yes, I know those!
ReplyDeleteBut there are so few here in Germany...
Also I think this styluses would never get to Germany on this way ^^
I really hope I can buy them some day because I really loooove cute styluses and after the disappointment of the cheap Thearhythm Stylus I need a good one like the Nook-stylus.
I love gacha machines but I never get the thing I want! I'd waste too much money trying for the cutest one ;)
ReplyDeleteIs the Theatrhythm stylus the one that came with the game? Are you disappointed by the quality of it? If so, that's too bad!
Yes, when I ordered the game on Amazon I was getting a free stylus with FF-character-pictures. If you want to buy this stylus you have to spend 20€!!! Thats waaaay to expensive for such a cheap stylus. Its is only a white stick with a tile on top where you can stick the character-sickers on. That's all... and you can use every sticker only once... too sad.. but these Animal Crossing-styluses look so cute! Really need one.
ReplyDeleteI live the styluses!! I want the pink one with the fossil charm! I've been searching all over eBay and Amazon and the closest I've found is all 6 for US $30 plus shipping. At least I have until June 9th for the NA release to try to find one. Love your AC post!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, unfortunately they look like they're pretty hard to come by >_< From what I can tell from the above image, the styluses are only being sold in capsule machines, and not in regular shops. The pink one with the fossil is definitely the cutest!
ReplyDeleteYou can get them on Amazon! Just search "animal crossing pens." As of right now they even have the fossil charm ones.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, thanks Nathan! They're actually not that expensive, too! Great find.
ReplyDeleteHey Catherine, here's a link to the pink fossil one you wanted on Amazon! Hope you're able to grab it before it's sold out! It's only $5.99: http://www.amazon.com/Animal-Crossing-Leaf-Stylus-Touch/dp/B00BT73HSA/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1365559196&sr=8-8&keywords=animal+crossing+pens
